A Standard Material List Contains:

Tongue and Grooved Wood for the Walls and Ceiling. Full length 1x4 T&G boards are supplied to eliminate all unsightly butt joints. The boards are 11/16" thick to prevent cupping and to provide extra insulation and strength. Thinner T&G boards are not recommended. The T&G boards are planned for easy horizontal nailing to 2x4 studs (or equivalent) for a standard 82" inside height. The boards are available in Knotty Spruce, Clear Pine, Clear Cedar or Knotty Cedar.

Bench Materials 2x4s in Abachi or Cedar are supplied to build two-tier heavy-duty benches normally along the longest wall. Benches include fascia boards, stiffeners, crosspiece supports and plated screws for bottom fastening. L-shape bench layouts are available as an option for large saunas.

Duckboard Floor. Duckboards on flexible sleepers will cover the open part of the floor in front of the benches.

Heater Guard. A safety guard must be installed for complete protection from accidental contact.

Standard Door and Trim. The standard sauna door measures 72" x 24 1/8" x 2 3/8". it can be ordered with or without a window and is installed into a rough opening of 75" x 26 1/4". Door casing and Stops are supplied.

Door Hardware. Large 3 1/2" hinges, two heavy-door handles and an adjustable nylon friction door catch are used to complete the door installation.

Light Fixture. The standard vapour-proof sauna light ("LFW") is wall- mounted away from the bench area.

Aluminum Foil. A roll of the special heat-resistant aluminum foil is used for the vapour barrier as well as for extra insulation.

Galvanized Finishing Nails. electro-galvanized ardox finishing nails are supplied in various sizes with lots for every purpose.

Standard Heater and Controls. A correctly sized CSA-Approved wall-hung sauna heater is supplied complete with igneous rocks and standard thermostat control.
